"3 munchkins, 1 elite"
Went through three Munchkins, all replaced under warranty. The third one was replaced with an Elite FT and I had to pay for an upgrade because the Munchkin was discontinued. Now the Elite is leaking in the heat exchanger. All the units were installed by a certified boiler tech. I'm going to replace it with a different brand, I'm through with HTP. Four boilers in nine years. I'm sorry. Do not buy HTP boilers. I learned the hard and costly way.

"Review of Elite FT Gas Heating Water Boiler"
I purchased the Elite FT gas water boiler in 2015 after the water boiler in the house I had just purchased to renovate burst. Since it is a fairly new unit, I haven't had any issues with it yet. I specifically selected this model because it is a wall-mounted unit, which meant I was able to move the boiler out of the middle of my basement and into an inconspicuous corner. I was very pleased with its design and it is made of a heavy metal, and it does not get hot. It is also very energy efficient, which made up for the initial sticker-shock I had when I saw the price. My only real criticism of this unit is of the control panel screen, which can be a little difficult to read because it is small. Despite this, I think it is a great unit because of its energy efficiency and its design. It is pretty expensive, but I expect it to last for a long time, so it is worth the investment. I highly recommend it!

"My Elite FT Gas Heating Water Boiler with 55,000 BTU Review"
I have used this boiler for 5 years, and I cannot remember how life was without it. This is one of the best boilers I have owned in my life. I like that is it quick to power on and does a great job of providing the needed service. If I had to state a thing that I do not like about it, I am not able to find a fault with it. I have not had to replace it in the previous 5 years. The boiler seems to keep going with nothing in its way. Absolutely a smart buy on my part. If I had to choose an option of buying this boiler or buying a different boiler, I would definitely buy the same boiler again. Like I said in the beginning of this review, I do not know how I could go so long without having this boiler.

"Great New Boiler will make you sweat!"
This year at our hunting lodge our boiler system (which was over 60 years old if you believe the grounds keeper) finally took the big dump on us and we needed to add up our due money to afford a new one. We already had like 6 grand in the coffer for this kind of stuff but to install the one we wanted was over 13,000 bucks and that was too high. We settled on the HTP for about $10,000 flat installed and for the price it's actually a great system. We need to crank the heat way up there to help out the guys. Most often we've been deep in the woods hunting for hours and we are frozen when we come back to the lodge to get warm. We've had it for about two months now and brother this new one will make you break out in an instant sweat if we want to crank it up and it does it fast too. We are in high demand for good consistent heat and out model EFT-285PU kicks about as much butt as the hunters who rely upon it. Highly recommended.

"HTP Boiler is AMAZING"
I have owned my HTP Elite FT boiler for almost 3 years now. I had an issue with my last boiler which was over 10 years old and decided to go with the HTP Elite FT after getting a great deal. The first thing I liked about the product is the look. The boiler is sleek and has a modern look, which was a lot more appealing compared to my old boiler. Second, I just love how it functions. It has a great recovery time for hot water and it is quiet, which is essential for my son, who sleeps in the basement. So far, I have not had to replace any parts and I have referred the product to a friend of mine who recently decided to buy a new boiler (I am not sure if he took my advice). Yes, I would buy it again.

Geoff - What is skewing the ratings is that, 99.99% of the happy owners don't come on here and tell the world how good their properly installed and maintained boiler runs. And how happy they are with their gas bills. I now have two HTP boilers on my property (one heats my barn and now an Elite FT-55 will heat my basement and four season porch). Go ahead and buy the Rinnai - I can't wait to read about it on the Rinnai bashing site. The boiler is 4 years old in box because they haven't been built for that long. You should have upgraded to the new Elite FT.
Other Elite FT Reviews
Among the few posts on HVAC forums regarding the Elite FT is one on heatinghelp.com asking for opinions on the unit. The responses were not negative but did say that it is similar to a Triangle Tube and has a heat exchanger similar to those used by other companies. A member on another post chose the Elite FT when given a choice between several boilers.
