Overview of the Luna Wall Hung
The Baxi Luna Wall Hung boiler is a combination heating and domestic hot water gas condensing boiler (a "combi boiler") with an efficiency of up to 92.5% AFUE. The nickel-chrome, stainless steel design of the premix burner and primary heat exchanger provide resistance to corrosion. The unit is approved for closet installation, and the fully modulating fan and direct vent ensure quiet operation. The Luna Wall Hung features an electronic, gradual ignition and a gas valve with continuous modulation system. The fully automatic self-diagnostics include a CPU microprocessor for optimal efficiency. Multiple units can be cascaded to share the same vent with a single exterior opening.

I have had nothing but trouble with this boiler, installed about 5 yrs ago. It commonly stops working- won't fire, won't reset, have put $2000 into repairs and total replacement of every possible part. It quit working when the temps went down to -45 f in January 2017 while we were out of town, hasn't worked since (now August). I had to drive from Arizona to Montana, buy enough electric heaters to cover 1200+ sq ft, then drive back in a snowstorm.

"Do not purchase one"
Problems with the system making our water way too hot. Had the plumber over several times and they kept trying to lower the system temperature. Heating guy called the company several times for instructions but nothing worked. Finally they said I had too low water pressure so they had to put in a 5 gallon water heater to get the system correct. Now I am paying an additional electrical fee and will have to replace the water heater every few years. I also had several problems with the outfit installing the heater, from a leaking propane line to no shows with no calls, etc. But that is a different story. Now my thermostats will not call for heat. I want the unit gone as I hate it. Also I found out my heating company put the unit in their name and not mine on the warranty.

"The worst product I have ever invested in"
First of all the company does not stand behind their product. Second, finding a local repairman that can service this unit is impossible and very expensive. This unit worked fine the first six months and that's it! It has been nothing but a huge headache and a financial burden. I have a problem with it 3 or 4 times a year. The problems range from minor to severe. The hot water turns cold mid stream or just stays cold. I can't imagine how much water I have wasted while running the water waiting for it to heat up. Parts regularly break and need to be replaced. The hydraulic venturi is a plastic cage. We have to replace it at least twice a year. The part is $25 plus labor. If it was made out of metal the problem would be solved. The water pressure piece busted last week. It flooded my entire front room. Imagine if I wasn't home? My wood floors have warped, we now have a mold problem. I had to make a home owners insurance claim. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this product or company.

"Baxi Luna - waste of money"
I have had this unit for several years, and every year I have had to replace something on it. I have spent money on recirculation pumps, control boards, a new cooling fan and this year a new internal recirculation pump and heat exchanger. For being energy efficient they are great when they work, but all the money I have spent keeping this hunk of junk running, all my savings have gotten flushed down the commode. I'm seriously considering scrapping it and converting to a traditional coal boiler unit. Less moving parts and made in the USA.

This is a great product until you have problems. Ours is not yet 5 years old and we went with out water or heat for almost three weeks because that's how long it took them to figure out how to fix it. I spent almost 5000 dollars to get it fixed. The Baxi help line had the service man keep replacing parts. They replaced the mother board 3 times, at 350 dollars each time. The Baxi support sucks. The worst service I have ever dealt with. They are nice on the phone, listening to your concerns about how they have just cost you thousands, and they promise to look into it and then will never get back to you or accept your call. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand with a good warranty.

"Great unit that works great"
This is a great boiler/water heater, it comes on for just a few seconds every few minutes. Or just turn on the hot water and enjoy. This is the best boiler that I have ever seen. I bought one for one property last year and I'm looking at one more for another property we just bought. They pay for themselves with just the fuel savings. I can say how happy I am with this unit and our HVAC guys. They did a great install and set it up perfectly. All the rads work great and the air handler does a great job.

I had this installed and I have had nothing but problems. It is costing me a lot of money to have someone keep coming out to fix it. I tried to have the company who installed it come out, but the owner never calls me back. So I had to go with someone else and it took 3 companies before I found someone who knew how to service the Baxi. Turns out you need someone specialized in servicing this type of boiler. I hate it.

Multiple service calls by the B&K Sales, the service rep from New York. It takes weeks to get him here as I am in Maine. No one local knows how to fix it. Most of the problems are with domestic hot water. We have been through a couple of circuit boards too. My local plumber sold it to me as a good product. He does not even know how to service it! I am ready to lawyer up.

"Baxi Italian-made boiler - run away!"
If you're considering the installation of this European (Italian!) built heating system, think again. Long-term reliability is horrible - parts availability is worse! If it fails mid-winter you're going to have an uninhabitable house indefinitely. No local contractors know anything about them and if they did they wouldn't be able to get the parts anyway. The system is entirely too complex for its own good and the "efficiency" is a myth anyway. What you don't need on a minus five day is a heating system run by a computer chip and undersized components.

Do not install this unit. I was talked into it by a plumber I know. Our friendship is almost over because of it. Everyday for the past week he has come to the house to fix it after it goes down in the middle of the night. We only need one heating zone and so I am about to rip it out and go back to an "old school" boiler with a plain circulator. Stay away from this unit!

Do not buy this. We spent thousands servicing it over 7 years and now it's completely shot. I contacted Mike Hills, the Marathon International Territory sales manager, to help me try and find anyone that could service the unit, and he literally had no names of anyone that could help me. Worst service, worst unit.

"Worst mistake I ever made"
This unit has been a problem since the day it was installed. Constantly shuts down. The electronic board broke - $1500 repair. The pressure valve broke - $545 dollar repair. E133 codes at least 2 times a month ($250 repair). I am still paying off the loan on this piece of crap and will no doubt replace it. Do not buy this product.

"I've had problems with this boiler since Day 1"
I've had problems with this boiler since Day 1. First it was a leaking pressure valve, and now, for the last year, the boiler shuts down on a daily basis with an E133 message. We have spent over $2000 trying to fix it, with 4 different HVAC guys, and still no answers. Baxi doesn't seem to care. Now we are fed up and are getting a new boiler. Huge waste of money. Stay away!
