Weatherking Air Conditioners

Discontinued Series

WeatherKing, which was sold to Rheem in 1989, produced a series of cost-effective packaged air conditioners still in circulation today. Although the WeatherKing brand is now largely defunct, its units, suitable for manufactured housing and commercial buildings, are still available today.

Packaged Air Conditioners

WeatherKing packaged air conditioners are AHRI-certified and available with efficiency ratings of 13 and 14 SEER. Upon the consumer's request, these units can be factory- or field-installed for optional electric heat. Capacities for these units range from 2 to 5 tons.

Designed for easy maintenance and repair, WeatherKing air conditioners are equipped with metal rails under the unit's base to allow for adequate air circulation, protection from ground moisture and, therefore, a decreased risk for mildew growth. A top cover provides easy access to a removable blower housing and motor, as well as complete access to the coils for simple cleaning. The unit's sharp edges are dulled by the powder-coated paint system, and the outdoor coil is protected from weather damage by a full-louver panel. For repair needs, technicians can more easily troubleshoot thanks to the number- and color-coded wiring and wiring diagram.

Care and Maintenance of WeatherKing Air Conditioners

Homeowners should reference the user manual for directions for unit care, although annual professional maintenance is generally recommended.

Product registration is required to receive full warranty benefits, but with normal use and regular service, a 10-year conditional warranty on parts is available. The compressor comes with a 5- to 10-year warranty, depending on the unit's application.
