Overview of the UASL-JEC
The Ruud UASL-JEC, part of Ruud's Ultra series, is a two-stage central air conditioner. It's a split-system unit with Ruud's Comfort Control System. Ruud is a sibling brand to Rheem, and the UASL-JEC is the same machine as Rheem's RASL-JEC air conditioner.

"Bad units, customer service, warranty"
As an air conditioning company, we sold Ruud for many years. In the past they were a great brand with a great rating. Then they made a bad mistake, buying their copper from China and putting cheaper equipment into the unit. The company that sold Ruud in Phoenix stopped selling Ruud, we lost thousands in fixing parts that they won't warranty. We will never sell any Ruud or Rheem unit and other companies are saying the same in Arizona.

"Be Afraid, be very afraid"
This unit was installed in April of 2012. omg - I have the air conditioner repair man here more than I'm here. Every other day the air conditioner kicks off and they have to come to "reset" it. They have replaced just about every part, added coolant, drained coolant and reader coolant, the condenser, the boards just about everything. When it is working only half the house cools to the set thermostat setting and the other half of the house is 6 - 10 degrees warmer. Run - Run as fast as you can from this air conditioner.

"Ultra 18 seer two-stage"
Very annoying problem where sometimes the air handler fan won't run while the compressor does. The house heats up and anywhere from 30" to and hour later the fan finally kicks in. The air handler and compressor don't work together 20% of the time. Service call didn't solve my problem.
