Overview of the HSXB15

The Lennox HSXB15 was a member of Lennox's top tier product line, the Signature Collection, but was discontinued in 2004. This residential split-system model provided an efficiency of up to13.6 SEER and used R410-A (Puron) refrigerant.

The HSXB15 is available in sizes ranging from 2 to 5 tons. To achieve top efficiency, the unit must be paired with a matching indoor evaporator coil set.

Additional components of this model include an LED monitor for easy diagnostics, compatibility with programmable thermostats and a factory-installed filter drier to remove moisture and increase compressor longevity. A complementary line of optional accessories was also available for the HSXB15.

"Too high a maintenance cost"
This unit was "Top of the Line" as I was told and I sure was sucked in by the research. This is a technically advanced unit designed to use less electricity than it's predecessors. The problem is the maintenance cost. This unit is only 6 years old and I've already spent over $1,000 to keep it running. The technology is incredible but the overall cost to keep it running in tip top shape far exceeds the cost savings you may reap. This unit replaced a 22 year old construction grade York ac. I never spent a dime on that ac. Now I find myself spending, at the very least, $100 a year to keep this Lennox Model running. Buy a cheaper ac and you will save more money than buying "Top of the Line"

"Best there is"
I have an older Lennox system that I got used. It is the first air conditioning system I ever installed. I am now a Lennox dealer and have seen no issues with our Lennox installs. Some of the issues posted here lead me to believe the problems are installer related. Noise is typically from undersized duct work. Improperly installed traps or drains will cause water leakage. Refrigerant will leak from badly braised connections...I Have seen all of these problems and more with different systems over the years. Your installer may have been the low bidder, may not be completely truthful about what his repairs are, and may need a few more years of working for a competent service company before going into business. The previous Lennox installer in this area was competent and knowledgable. As a result of his proper installations we are servicing Lennox units that are close to 50 years old. Lennox is still a top of the line brand. Built like a tank.

"Lousy service from Schnaares Heating and Cooling."
I purchased a Lennox hsxb150242-30 14 seer air conditioner from Schnaares Heating and Cooling in Kenosha,Wi with a 10 year parts and labor warranty. I called the warranty company that Lennox uses and found out the dealer cancelled the warranty. I have been trying to get this problem rectified with the dealer for 2 weeks and am still waiting. I understand Lennox had a problem with severe freon leaks with this unit and when I call Lennox all get is the run around. I am frustrated with Lennox and the dealer. I am waiting to see if the dealer reactivates this warranty otherwise, I will taking them to small claims court.
