Overview of the 10ACC Merit
The Lennox 10ACC Merit series air conditioner was produced in seven models as a 10 SEER unit (capable of reaching up to 11.4 SEER with compatible accessories) available in 1.5- to 5-ton capacities. Although no longer manufactured due to the new required manufacturing minimum of 13 SEER ratings, the Lennox 10 ACC was designed for its time as an efficient, durable unit.
The unitís direct-drive fan is precision-balanced to ensure slow, quiet operation. The compressoróeither a scroll or reciprocating compressor, depending on the unitóis hermetically-sealed and suction-cooled to increase its life and decrease energy costs.
An enamel finish protects the unitís heavy-gauge, galvanized steel cabinet from rust and corrosion. According to the manufacturer, damaging moisture will not collect in the base pan because drainage holes are placed in moisture susceptible areas. A PVC-coated steel wire guard protects the condenser coil and, in order to minimize refrigerant loss during maintenance procedures, the product is equipped with reusable service valves.

Our unit was installed 05/14. Prior to the two year mark the unit was not cooling properly. Purchased from and installed by A#1 Air, Lewisville, Texas. After three service calls a#1 found the problem, a coil leak. Currently we have a warranty that does not cover the labor to install the part. My wife and I are very disappointed that this could happen to a unit with such short service time. Also the compressor seems to make more noise than before, it makes us feel uncertain of what is down the road in the short term. Please help!

I'm an HVAC tech with 20 years of experience. Lennox sucks. If you are looking to buy a quilty ac, go w/ Carrier, they are the best, longest lasting. Trane is also very good. Stay away from Lennox and Goodman.
Other 10ACC Merit Reviews
While HVAC online discussion and review sites do not provide much feedback on the 10ACC Merit air conditioner, Lennox products overall are considered to be good, quiet and durable products. Among the problems that are reported in these online forms, customers have encountered problems related to valves, compressors and fan motors, as well as occasional coil leaks.
Among the problems posted is one on justanswer.com about a 6-year-old 10ACC that shuts down after a brief runtime. Because the outdoor fan continues to run, the online contractor advises that the fault may come from an iced coil.
