Overview of the NXA6
The Day & Night NXA6 is a discontinued single-stage air conditioner with an efficiency rating of up to 16 SEER. The NXA6 was part of Day & Night's Performance line and was Energy Star qualified. It featured a copper tube/aluminum fin coil, and a filter drier was provided for field installation. The unit's single-speed fan motor helped provide sound levels as low as 76 decibels. An easy access control panel and service valves, along with external high and low refrigerant service ports, made the unit easy to install and service. The galvanized steel cabinet had a baked-on powder coat finish and weather-resistant coated screws which helped to protect against corrosion.

"You dont get what you pay for"
I bought the most expensive unit Day & Night makes . High SEER, 5 ton unit. Every year it has to be filled with Freon. I have contacted the company and we will see how they handle this problem. When the unit works it is a great system. I have asked for a new condenser and I won't settle for anything but. If they try to swindle me or switch parts or anything but a new condenser I will continue my review!

Carrier / Day & Night have quality issues on their outdoor coils, especially the R410 higher pressures. Since 2005, I have people calling me that are mad at the contractor that installed it. I tell them it sounds like a manufacturer defect. I used to be a loyal Carrier dealer 30 years ago. I wouldn't sell one now. Save yourself the headache.

Had it installed in 2012. It broke down twice, the inside motor. I know it's not cooling but don't know what it is. Waiting on the A/C man to come look at it.

We purchased this unit in 1/2013. We have paid $1141.08 out of pocket for repairs and Freon this summer, 2015. Don't waste your money; pay a little more and get a more reputable system. I will never put this unit in another home...and will never buy a home with this unit in it. Awful! Night and Day should reimburse for the labor to fix their junk.
