Homart is the trade name for a brand of furnaces marketed by Dornback Furnace. Dornback makes a full line of high-efficiency commercial and residential gas and oil-fired warm-air furnaces that can run conventional cooling systems. Adams owns the Dornback and Spartan Climate Control brands of heating and cooling equipment.

Corporate History

Dornback Hardware and Plumbing Company was founded in 1907 in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1923, Mr. Dornback added sales and installation of home heating equipment. In the late 1940's, Dornback became a major supplier to the Sears Roebuck Company under their trade name "Homart." Adams Manufacturing purchased Dornback in 1992 and continues to market the Dornback brand. In 2003, Adams Manufacturing was awarded a grant from the National Oil Research Alliance to develop a high-efficiency oil-fired furnace, which resulted in the design of the "World's Most Efficient Furnace" with 95% efficiency.

Product Lines

Dornback Furnace Division makes four series of high-efficiency furnaces: Highboy, Horizontal, Lowboy, and Counterflow. All of these are adaptable for summer air-conditioning units by adding a cooling package to the existing or oil-fired warm air furnace. A wide range of models and sizes is available. Homart furnaces are available from Sears Roebuck Company and through contractors.
