"Don't buy a Central Boiler"
I am a master plumber in the Philadelphia area that had a customer that bought a Central Boiler. Dealer mislead customer on many accounts regarding ease of installation with no regard for codes for a safe installation. Do not trust dealers. After installation the draft regulator was not closing and boiler was overheating. Central Boiler basically said "is your problem we are not there so figure it out yourself or call dealer". Also, technical support rep is just a salesman with no technical experience. Same problem on the draft regulator with another boiler. Bottom line don't buy a Central Boiler.

I bought my 2400 outdoor furnace in August 2013. I wrote out a check for $12,000. Furnace never came until October 2013. Then I was told that I needed another $3,000 worth of material to hook it up. After all this, material was picked up from my dealer. He informed me that he was too busy with his construction business to worry about installing it. I have not had one day of use from it without trouble. It won't stay burning and after repeated calls to Central Boiler, I am draining the entire unit and leaving my 18,000 monster sitting in my yard until I find someone who come out and show me what is wrong with it. They keep telling me to read the books and see the video. That does not help in keeping this monster burning. Think twice before you think that you are going to get an easy source of heat. I would not recommend anyone buying one of these expensive pieces of junk unless there is a guarantee that it will be in working order before you pay for it.

"Central Boiler Junk"
Had Central Boiler for seven years when it burned out. Dealers told me to contact Central Boiler, Central Boiler told me to contact dealers. Refused to stand behind their product, accused me of burning garbage in the unit. I timed going to our local dump we live 4 minutes from our dump so why would I burn garbage. Was told by vice president, must clean the boiler out and scrape with wire brush in minus 30 degree weather. That was not stated in the manual. When the rubber meets the road, the quality of steel used is very poor. Asked for mill test report 4 times, no response. I would stay as far away as possible from Central Boiler.

"Central Boiler Warranty 25 Years???? Is Really 10 Because Of Corrosion Wording"
My Central Boiler boiler was directly plumbed to my 15-year old Weil-McLain oil boiler. The Weil-McLain is much thinner and older when the Central Boiler was hooked into my heating system. 10 years later, my older now 25-year old Weil-McLain (much thinner cross section) is still going and the Central Boiler started leaking. I kept the pH and Nitride level testing perfect due to my direct plumbing method to protect my older house boiler. I also ran into a rude Central Boiler rep and I think all their boilers are failing well within their 25-year claim, and it's wearing them down. I only have experience with Central Boiler products, so I can't compare but I can tell perspective buyers to only expect 10 years at best. Because I treated this boiler like a chemist with the water, and treated the firebox with Ashtrol and scraped it down every year and coated the inside.

"Too Many Electrical Breakdowns"
I have an older Central Boiler model that is quite inefficient with no reburner, so it smokes a lot. I really like the concept of the unit but between the inefficiency, environmental concerns of smoke, and the fact that there are so many electrical parts that break down repeatedly, I don't like it nearly as much. My unit broke down again on a Friday evening over a long weekend, so I won't get parts for a few days. There is absolutely no way that I could rely on this unit as being my only source of heat for my house. I would have frozen up many times over the years. I wouldn't recommend it unless the newer models have improved a lot.

"Disappointed and Frustrated"
After investing $16,000 and endless hours of my time over the past 18 months, I'm deeply disappointed with the E-Classic 1450. I've followed the instructions to a "t" and the darned thing won't stay lit. Sometimes, I have to light it 4 times in a single day. The function which supposedly keeps it lit was never explained by the dealer and poorly documented in the manual. But even now with it set properly, the fire poops out all the time. My wood is dry and split just as specified in the video and manual. Running this thing has become a 2nd job for me. Wish I'd researched this product more fully before falling for the marketing which depicts it as easy to operate and dependable.

We have had nothing good to say about the E2300. Don't waste your hard earned money on this stove. We bought this stove as it was supposed to be more efficient. It has been horrible. I upgraded to this as I had one of the older ones and it has been the worst investment I've ever made. They should be made to recall all these and replace them with something that works. Do report this to consumers report. Terrible service. Not willing to work with customers.

"Central Boiler Lawsuit"
The Alaska AG filed a lawsuit against family with two E-Classic 2300s made by Central Boiler. They shut them down because the pollution made staff and children sick at Woodriver Elementary School in Fairbanks. It is recommended that everyone do their homework. You will find these wood boilers eat a lot of wood and put out a lot of pollution. States are now suing EPA for failure to regulate them and misleading the public on the efficiencies.

"E2300 Central Boiler"
I have had the unit since the fall of '08. There has been one problem after another with the boiler. Central Boiler tells you to speak to the dealer. The dealer says the units were rushed out the door to meet the new EPA requirements. It is a poorly engineered wood burner. Central Boiler will not stand behind the unit and claims it is how it is operated. Get something else to heat your house. With the amount of labor and repair costs, it would be cheaper to heat with oil!

"Outside Wood Stove"
CL40 which has 400 gallons of water. Been heating 1200 square feet house for 19 years. Also, use to heat garage on weekends. Unit has had no real issues, though seems to use a lot of wood. Though, I cannot compare to any other stoves, as this is the only one I have had. I would like to try a draft blower to see if it would lower wood consumption. The salesman I talked to says, it would only push heat out chimney but most stoves now come with blowers. I am currently looking for another stove for different location, but am not buying Central Boiler again.
