Greenwood Technologies, Inc. is actually named after Greenwood Furnace State Park near Belleville, Pennsylvania. An iron-making plant once existed near where the park is now, and the plant was known for its furnace, which burned as hot as 3,000 degrees F. The plant covered the surrounding town with soot and ash. The owners of Greenwood Technologies, Inc. named their company after the plant as a reminder of the importance of environmental awareness.

Greenwood Technology's warranties are available only to the original owner of the furnace. The ceramic firebox has a 20-year warranty, the steel has a 10-year warranty, and the plumbing system, including all gauges and other related components, is warranteed for one year.
