"Whirlpool 28-Gallon Water Heater"
We have had the 28 gallon whirlpool heater in our apartment for about a year and a half now, and I've been pretty well satisfied with its quality! The small unit suits us just fine, since we only have one small bathroom and kitchen, however, the facilities are shared between four roommates, so quite a bit of hot water gets used here on a daily basis! Our heater has been up to the job; the water tends to stay hot long enough for a nice, long bath or shower. It will often take a little longer than I'd like for the water to get hot again after someone's just used the last of it, but for a consumer on a budget I can't complain. We've had no issues with the unit, and have never needed any sort of repairs or adjustments; I'd definitely recommend this model to someone whose situation is similar to ours!

"Satisfactory experience for a popular brand"
This water heater met my expectations. Besides the noise it makes, I am almost completely satisfied. It has a very attractive compact and sleek look. Many water heater manufacturers cannot accomplish this. I love the fact that it is a popular brand because it has a great warranty. I read many reviews on the gas heater before purchasing and for the most part, the consumers are satisfied with the product just as I am. My husband and I had no issues installing it. We filled it with water and it took from 3-5 minutes to power up. I have noticed nothing bad from the water (odors, exhaustion, etc.) This product is very efficient and I am waiting for my first electric bill to prove to others what a great product this is. The customer service team is very helpful for whirlpool and they know the true meaning of customer service. I have yet to have any issues with hot water and I would recommend this product to all of my friends.

"Our Whirlpool Water Heater"
We purchased our Whirlpool Electric Water Heater in 2005. It was a significant improvement over our previous water heater, which struggled to provide enough hot water for us, even though there are only two in the house. The new water heater was straightforward to install and there are controls on the top including a series of lights that allow easy diagnosis of a variety of problems. Temperature setup is also very easy and consistent; there are also vacation and energy performance settings on the unit. Unfortunately, we had a number of problems with the control board. It required constant resetting or the unit would not fire properly and keep water temperature, and initially gave us element errors. We ended up replacing elements before diagnosing the problem as the control board. Whirlpool provided the elements and the board at no charge but it was a tedious and prolonged process. The new board has been installed for more than three years now and the unit runs significantly more efficiently, and keeps plenty of hot water available for us to use. I would recommend a Whirlpool Electric Water Heater, though I would warn people that my experience with Whirlpool's troubleshooting team was less than stellar.

"Satisfactory but nothing special"
I bought my current hot water heater, a whirlpool 50 gallon 6th sense, approximately 5 years ago when my older water heater stopped working. Compared to my older hot water heater, the Whirlpool works quite well. The water heats up quickly and even when a number of people repeatedly shower, the water heater keeps up and nobody winds up using cold water. I do not recall how much it cost when I bought it new, but I remember thinking it was neither the most expensive nor the least expensive. Overall I would say that I got what I paid for; I am not blown away by my water heater, but it performs well and I have no real complaints about it, and it was a reasonable price. If it continues to run for several more years without incident I would definitely consider the brand and model again when the time comes to replace it. I do not brag on my water heater, but if asked I would probably recommend it to a friend.

"my summary of a whirlpool water heater"
I have owned the water heater for 5 years and have been overall satisifed with the performance. There are however drawbacks to this unit. When we had to replace the popoff valve after only a year of use for a leaking seal. The repair went ok, but the corosion on the unit itself was pretty bad. The other drawback is that it uses a lot of power even though it says it is a energy efficent item. We have even considered a timer switch to regulate the hours it is on. The overall performance is satisfactory with the temperture of the water exiting the heater to be even and not scalding ( the temp setting is very easy to get to and can be set with a small flat screwdriver). I would recomend this unit to friend but would recommend a timer. As I would buy this unit agian and install the timer device.

Review:
"Not bad, but a bit finicky"
This water heater was installed in our cabin about a year before we moved in. It's a fairly small house, so the size of the water heater was appropriate for the venue, which we really appreciated. The heater does get the job done...sort of. The first few times we tried to take baths, we nearly died. This heater just did not seem to have the oomph to fill our tub up with hot water. But then my husband went ahead and adjusted the temperature and things got a bit better. However, we've had to turn the temperature WAY above average to get an entire tub of hot water- other wise, it just puts out about half a tub before turning ice cold. The heater does have a lot of things going for it. It's quiet for one- we never hear it catching on and off during the day or night. The water is always warm for the sink, and if we don't fill the bathtub all the way the water is nice and warm. Overall, a good heater.
