Special Features of Noritz Water Heaters

All Noritz water heaters are powered by gas or propane. Different models can accommodate the needs of a small apartment or larger residence with any number of bathrooms. Noritz offers three venting options: standard (indoor/outdoor), outdoor only, and sealed combustion, indoor only.

The Noritz dual burner technology uses a second row of burners that capture the escaped gas from the first row. The additional combustion increases the units energy efficiency, temperature consistency, and flow rate. The heat exchanger in Noritz heaters is made with commercial grade copper piping which increases durability and reduces the possibility of cracks and leaks

Other special features include: safety lock outs, automatic burner level adjustments, and direct ignitions.

Maintenance of Noritz Water Heaters

The Noritz owner's guide recommends periodic inspections and regular maintenance of the unit. Filters should be regularly checked and cleaned as they may become covered with debris and impede the smooth flow of water. Should this happen, homeowners can carry out simple maintenance as follows:

1. Close the water supply valve.
2. Open all hot water fixtures.
3. With a bucket ready, remove the inlet and outlet drain plugs.
4. Take the water drain valve out of the inlet.
5. Clean the water drain valve with a brush under running water.
6. Replace the water drain valve and close the drain plugs.
7. Close all hot water fixtures.
8. Open the water supply valve and check that water does not leak from the drain plugs or water drain valve.

Warranty

Noritz product warranties are for twelve years for the heat exchangers, five years for parts, and one year for labor.
