"Budget friendly, safe, attractive and good for small places."
I've owned the Dimplex CS2307 Portable Space Heater for about four years now. We live in a small historical restored farmhouse in central Oregon and unfortunately, because of insurance issues, were unable to install the antique wood stove we've always wanted to complete the look of our home. In a pinch and with a broken propane heating system, I went out and purchased the Dimplex heater. What first drew me to the heater was price, at under $150.00 it was within our budget. It looked well made and aesthetically pleasing. The styling of the heater itself really gives the impression of an old wood stove, especially with the electric "fireplace logs" turned on. Also, it had several safety features, such as cool touch, that made me confident to have it running in a home we share with two cats who I was afraid might knock a less sturdy heater over in the night. The Dimplex heater does a really good job of keeping our living room warm (which is about 300 square feet) but does not heat far beyond that range. This is not something you would purchase to heat your entire home, but for the price, that's obvious. After four years of consistent use with no problems I would definitely say it was worth our money. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wanted to heat a small room or apartment on a tight budget.

"compact stove- electric space heater, model ds3311"
This Dimplex compact stove-electric space heater looks like a real black wood stove with it's hologram of realistic flames. I got it in 2003 and only had to replace one switch in 2010. It had (fortunately) stuck in the ON position so that I had to unplug it to turn off, and the other two heat switches still work.I called their 800 # and ordered the 3-pack of switches for only $36 including shipping, then pried out the one and pulled off the quick-connects. The heat has 2 speeds, hi & low, and both are quiet. The fake flames are actually produced by light bulbs that have never needed replacing, but only need to remove 4 screws to access. It is very lightweight black metal and the heat comes out the front of the bottom.
