Endless Summer Heaters

Made by Blue Rhino, a company most famous for its propane tank exchange service, Endless Summer outdoor heaters are also sold under the name Uniflame. There are three kinds of heaters: LP gas, natural gas, and electric. They offer 14 LP models, 12 electric models, and just 1 natural gas model. Styled like lamps, all Endless Summer heaters are styled for home use.

Special Features

The LP gas outdoor heaters all are made of stainless steel and are designed to be assembled quickly and easily without the need for tools. In addition, each LP model can heat at least a 10-foot diameter; bigger models have larger diameters. Each LP model comes with a one-year limited warranty.

The lone natural gas model can heat up to a 20-foot diameter and is adjustable to produce between 24,000 and 40,000 BTUs. The electric models have a slightly wider diameter than the LP's (12 feet), but less BTUs (4,095 to 7,000-11,000).

Safety Considerations

All Endless Summer heater models have several safety features. LP and natural gas models have a safety-tilt shut off. The LP models also have a Low-Oxygen shut-off as well. Electric models have an automatic shutoff tilt switch. Specific safety recommendations are detailed for each model. Several LP gas heaters, for example, are not recommended for use when the temperature is below 40 degrees F.

History

Blue Rhino was started in 1994 by Billy Prim, an entrepreneur from North Carolina. Inspired by propane tank exchange in Europe, he brought it back to the United States and starting from his home state, spread across the country. Blue Rhino merged with Ferrelgas in 2004.
