International Comfort Products (ICP) Commercial manufactures commercial furnaces, package and split air conditioners and heat pumps in a variety of shapes and capacities.
ICP Commercial is a subsidiary of ICP USA, which has been designing and manufacturing heat pumps for more than 50 years. The company was previously known as Inter-City Products, until in 1999, ICP USA was purchased by Carrier parent company United Technologies Corp. and it took on its current name.
At one point, ICP owned the Lincoln brand of high efficiency oil furnaces. However, the brand's website (lincoln-hvac.com) disappeared in 2012.
ICP offers more than 10 different models of packaged heat pump available in a range from 2.5- to 25-ton capacities. Select units also are available as rooftop units.
While the individual units vary in features and efficiency, many offer 2-stage heating and cooling, medium- and high-static fan motor operation, a convertible airflow design and a factory-installed economizer option.
Although ICP only manufactures four models of split heat pumps, it offers up to eight individual units in various sizes and heating and cooling capacities.
Models ranging from 6 to 20 tons meet ASHRAE's standard for efficiency, have up to 12 EER, and are equipped with a single- or dual-refrigerant circuit, depending on the model. The systems also have Comfort Alert diagnostics for simple maintenance.
The 2.5 to 5 ton units may not be as robust as the larger heat pumps, with a 13 SEER and up to 8.5 HSPF rating, but they are designed to offer an easy diagnostic system and 2-speed fan motor.
ICP heat pumps less than 15 tons are Energy Star-qualified, while several of the models with capacity above 15 tons carry ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency approval, meaning they meet the requirements for energy-efficient designs for commercial buildings.
