Corporate History

Dayton was founded in 1937 and acquired by Grainger in 1966. W.W. Grainger was incorporated in Chicago in 1928. In June 2006 Grainger was voted number 3 on the Big 50 in Industrial Distribution magazine. In December 2005 they were named Southern California's Supplier of the Year.

Product Lines

Dayton has a wide range of gas furnaces. The 80+ AFUE multiposition gas furnace can be easily applied in upflow, horizontal, or downflow installation situations. It is equipped with a rollout safety control. The Dayton oil furnaces are Upflow, Lowboy, and Horizontal Oil. All the furnaces come with a proven heat exchanger and 16-gauge all-welded construction. There is a hard-cast ceramic combustion chamber for proper flame control and long reliability. Consumers can add on air conditioning with the fan relay. Dayton products are available via Grainger's branches and catalogs.

Dayton's Warranty

Dayton has a limited warranty on its products. For the gas furnaces, Dayton warrants its heat exchanger for 15 years and all other parts for one year. You can get the text of warranty upon request. Units are covered by a 10-year warranty. For the oil furnaces, Dayton offers a lifetime warranty to the original owner on the heat exchanger and a one-year warranty on other parts. This warranty does not cover loss due to corrosion by chemicals precipitated in the air, such as chlorinated or halogenated hydrocarbon vapor.
