Comfort-Aire History
The Comfort-Aire name was established by parent company Heat Controller Inc. in 1955. In that year, Heat Controller had moved to Jackson, Mich., and begun manufacture of air conditioners and dehumidifiers under the Comfort-Aire brand.
Heat Controller Inc. also purchased the Century brand in 1975, and the Canadian brand Aitons in 2000. The company is headquartered in Jackson, but also operates warehouses in Ontario, Las Vegas and Chicago.
Product Lines
Comfort-Aire manufactures a wide array of products for heating, cooling and dehumidifying. These include central air conditioners (RSG-R, RSN13, RSG13 and RSG 14); gas furnaces (with AFUE ratings of 95%, 92% and 80%); heat pumps (HRN13, HRG13 and HRG14); and an oil furnace (Patriot 80). The company also offers several packaged air conditioner-heat pump combinations.
The company also makes a variety of window-mount and free-standing room air conditioners.

Comfort-Aire Warranty
The baseline warranty for a Comfort-Aire air conditioner lasts for five years and entitles the owner to replacement parts. This warranty does not cover maintenanceor labor. A commercial warranty lasts for one year only.
The company also sells various assurance plans that extend the basic warranty. These come in various forms: They can cover parts or labor and come in lengths from between two and ten years.
