Corporate History

Coleman was founded in 1900, and sold lanterns and camp stoves for most of its history. In 1958, Coleman began selling HVAC equipment for mobile homes. In 1990, Coleman's Heating and Cooling division became part of Evcon Industries. York UPG acquired Evcon Industries in 1996.

Product Lines

Coleman markets their central air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps under the "Echelon", "Comforteer" and "Standard" trade names. The "Echelon" line is marketed as more "stylish" and quieter than "Comforteer" and "Standard" models.
