The Trane XC95 ranges in size from 60,000 BTU to 120,000 BTU. The size you need will depend on the heating load for your home. This efficiency rating for this furnace also increases depending on the size of the furnace. The 60,000 BTU furnace has an AFU rating of 92 percent while the 120,000 BTU furnace has an AFU of 95 percent.
To figure out the BTU output of the furnace simply multiply the total BTU (60,000 for example) times its efficiency percentage (.92).
Also, gas tends to burn more efficiently than oil, which is why gas furnaces tend to have a higher AFU.
To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present.
