Yes, you should be able to add a central AC to this unit as long as it is compatible (size and a few other variables). One thing I would ask is how old is the furnace? If the furnace is near the end of its lifespan (15 to 20 years) you will get a better deal buying and installing the furnace and Ac at the same time.

To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present.  To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.

As I stated in . I listed model carrier. But to answer your question it is about 3 yrs old and I am looking for actual part or part numbers to add to furnace to make this happen

Hi,

You are going to need to find the matching compressor and additional parts (evaporator coil, tie in parts, etc.). I sent a request to Carrier to ask for matching AC units and will get back to you.

Here is their response:

Thank you for contacting Carrier.

Unfortunately, we cannot specify or recommend equipment from this office. Only a licensed dealer who can perform a complete system check and application review can recommend the best equipment appropriate for your personal installation specifics. This dealer will typically review your duct work and perform any necessary load calculation to determine the correct sizing and application of the appropriate replacement unit. If you are not familiar with dealers in your area, a complete listing may be obtained from our website.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Regards,

Nicole
