How do I change the filter

Post created: 2013-03-26 Type of Equipment: Furnace Views: 87

Is there a filter to change besides the return air? if so, how do I do that?

Surprisingly it is fairly difficult to find an owner manual for this furnace (some brands are very easy, but others are a challenge). However, it should be just the one filter (sometimes there are two depending on if it is upflow or downflow). For most brands of furnaces the filter should slide out. You will need to note which side is up so you put the new filter in right side up. Also be sure it clicks into place so that it is secure.

To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present.  To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.
