Impossible to say. You need to do a heat and cooling load calculation in order to understand the proper size heat pump et al that you need. The problem with just saying medium size house is that medium to you may be large to someone else. More importantly, to do a proper load calculation you need to know the R value of the windows and insulation, average outdoor temps, configuration of the home and so on.
I highly recommend that if you haven't done this vitally important step first you risk either buying to large or too small. Either of these will limit the efficient operation of the system and shorten its lifespan. The best place to start is getting a certified HVAC tech to do a load calculation and then finding the right fit for your home.
To keep legal happy, let me just say that I am not an HVAC contractor, and you should never even look at your furnace without having a qualified, liability accepting HVAC contractor present. To keep sales happy, let me just say that you can find an HVAC contractor that's happy to take your money here: http://www.furnacecompare.com/perl/find_contractors.pl.
