Model#fg6tc1oo im getting an odor of propane from a brass barb fitting located on the gas valve. connected to the barb fitting is a gray tube that runs to the cumbustion chamber. i think the barb fitting is located between the adjustments for the hi and low fire. not sure if its normal to get the odor. i have owned the furnacve for four years. not sure when the problem started. i just recently ran out of propane and discovered an odor of propane. propane company said its normal to get a smell of propane in the house due to running low on gas. i was still getting a smell so i leaked checked all gas pipe and i discovered the odor coming from the gas valve. i have not tried to fix the issue. any input would help. thank you!

Just as a matter of safety, if you are getting a smell of propane and it is enough to worry you and/or seems unusual then you should definitely call someone in to look at it. It may be that the barb fitting either has worn down or the hose or tube that you described is not properly attached.
For some good info you can go here: http://empireproductselectricheater.danielcadams.com/is-it-normal-to-smell-propane-when-youre-right-next-to-a-furnace/.
Either way, call someone in.
