My house is a four level spliit. It has two furnaces - one for the top level where the bedrooms are located and the other for the rest of the house. I need to replace the furnace for the rest of the house and have been advised that I should replace both to "save money in the long run." Is there any kind of system that would allow a single furnace to heat my whole house while still maintaining the two zone system so I don't have to waste energy to heat the bedrooms during the day when they are empty and the rest of the house at night when it is empty?
