If you are wondering about why you need to size a furnace, the simple answer is that too small of a furnace will work too hard to maintain heat and will break down more often and need to be replaced sooner. Too large of a furnace is like driving a semi truck with the brakes on the whole time. It will hurt the furnace and cause it to run inefficiently.
