How long is the heat exchanger covered for in a Carrier

Installed in 2004. In 2009 had to have it repaired. Now in 2012, I am told that the heat exchanger is plugged and that I may need a new circuit board. I have a warranty package thru DTE Energy but they don't cover the heat exchanger. I heard that the heat exchanger is covered for 20 years. Is that true?

Hard to say for sure (couldn't find the exact model), but the carrier models I have been able to find all have a 20 year warranty on the heat exchanger, so yes you probably do have a 20 year warranty.
