We just installed a PG95XAT48120c 95.5 propane furnace, the unit works great, run every 4.5 minutes, This seems excessive and not very effecient. Is the a swing setting on the furnace ?Post created: 2012-11-20 Type of Equipment: Furnace Views: 69This question was created on the page: http://www.furnacecompare.com/furnaces/payne/pg9.html. The most common cause for a short cycling furnace is that it is over-sized for the application.
If I am correct you have a 120,000 BTU furnace. If your house is 3,000 square feet on the above ground levels the size is probably OK.
If your house is around 1,200 - 1,500 square feet, you are way over-sized.
The HVAC contractor who sold you the furnace should have taken measurements to determine the correct furnace size.
