Hi,

We have a new boiler installed recently. The boiler is Buderus G115WS3 with Riello burner, chimney vent. When the burner starts cold, it generates a low pitch sound, like irregular series of puffs. This vibration can be felt and heard anywhere in the house. Our contractor calls it "spattering". After a few burning cycles the burning stabilizes and gets steady, but when the boiler cools down and starts again, the "spattering" repeats.

Our contractor has no idea what to do with that. He reduced the Riello air inlet from "4" (factory preset) to "3" and even "2". It helps, but it seems to me this just masks the problem. I think it chokes the flame and changes the oil – air ratio, and as a result – reduces efficiency. Any idea how to fix this problem?

Thanks, Larry
