About Kenosha

Kenosha is the county seat of Kenosha County, Wisconsin. It is located on the western shore of Lake Michigan, about an hour north of Chicago, Illinois and 30 minutes south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The city’s name is an English version of the original Indian name. The community, first called Pike, was established by white settlers in 1836 with the arrival of the U.S. Post Office.
