About Fitchburg
Although John Stoner began farming in the area of Fitchburg, Wisconsin in 1837, the first permanent settlers were George and Joseph Vroman, Dutch immigrants who came to the area to work on the state capitol in Madison, but also began farming and built a home 1839.
