South Hill is located in Pierce County, Washington. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area, and is located about ten miles south of Seattle, and only a few miles east of Tacoma. South Hill was settled in the late 1800s by explorers and loggers, farmers, and hunters. It is one of the fastest growing areas in Washington state. During winter months, the daily temperature averages about 35 degrees. During the summer months, the daily temperature averages only in the mid-50s.
