Located just south of Tacoma, Lakewood, Washington is an urban community in the greater Seattle area between Interstate 5 and Puget Sound. The population of Lakewood, according to the 2000 estimate, is 58,211. A number of lakes are in the city, as well as creeks that drain directly into Puget Sound.
