About Levittown
Levittown, PA is the largest suburb of Philadelphia (twenty miles south of downtown), with a population just over fifty thousand. Not an incorporated town, it is rather a "census-designated place". Levittown was initiated and executed by the developer Levitt and Sons as a planned community in the early 1950s, and was the second forerunner (after Levittown, NY) to the modern suburban community.
