About Lebanon
Lebanon, Pennsylvania, originally known as Steitztown, is a city in southeastern Pennsylvania (population 24,461). The city was laid out in 1740 by George Steitz. Lebanon was incorporated as a city in 1885. It is now the county seat of Lebanon County. It is part of the Harrisburg metro area in the Lebanon Valley, and is approximately equidistant (25 miles) from Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Reading. Its location near the famous Cornwall Orr Mines bolstered its development. Today Lebanon has an active advertising and web development industry.
