The city of Stow is located in Summit County, Ohio, about halfway between Cleveland and Akron. It is considered a suburb of Akron. Stow was originally part of the Connecticut Western Reserve, a portion of land south of Lake Erie claimed by the colony of Connecticut before the founding of the nation. A company of speculators, including Joshua Stow, purchased the land for settlement and financial investment. Its primary industry is agriculture.
