Troy, NY is located along the Hudson River in upstate New York, a few miles north of the state capital of Albany, NY. Troy NY is the county seat of New York's Rennsselaer County. It's population today is 48,300, far less than its peak of over 72,000 people in the year 1920. Several famous educational institutions, including the Emma Willard School, Rennsselaer Politechnic Institute, and Russel Sage College.
