About Fairmount
Fairmount is located in Central New York. It's a suburb of the city of Camillus, located on the outskirts of Syracuse. Nearby towns and villages include Geddes, Westvale, and Solvay. Fairmount is to the southwest of Onondaga Lake, which is the closest large body of water. Winter temperatures typically range from 12 to 32 degrees, and summer high temperatures are typically in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Summer lows are usually in the high 50s to low 60s. This is a very snowy region during the winter; the average annual snowfall is 115 inches. Fairmount was named in 1798, and became part of Camillus in 1834. One of the main shopping areas in Fairmount is called Fairmount Fair. It was originally an open air mall. It is currently a shopping plaza with several stores.
