About Dunkirk
Dunkirk is located in Chautauqua County in the southwestern corner of New York on the shores of Lake Erie. The most famous person born in Dunkirk was H.B. Halicki, who directed The Junkman and Gone In 60 Seconds. He filmed part of the latter movie in Dunkirk. The population of Dunkirk as of the last census in 2000 was 13,131 people.
