About Chappaqua

Chappaqua, New York, is a hamlet in northern Westchester County, within the Town of New Castle. It is home to about 9,500 people (as of the 2000 Census) and it's about 30 miles north of New York City. The town was founded by Quakers in the 1730s and named for the Algonquin words for "the rustling land." Chappaqua most recently made news when former President Bill Clinton and his wife and New York Senator Hillary moved there after his presidency.
