About Kearney

Kearney, pronounced “kar-ney”, is a city in central Nebraska located near the Platte River. It is 130 miles west of the state capital at Lincoln along Interstate 80. Kearney is a large city for Nebraska, with a population of almost 30,000. Kearney is home to the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
