About Cottage Grove

Cottage Grove was established in 1843 when two villages, Langdon and Old Cottage Grove, were merged into one community. Cottage Grove is in Washington County in eastern Minnesota. It has a population of about 31,000 people today and is known for its creameries, dairy farms, and fertile farmlands. Cottage Grove is one of the few towns in America to still have a historic working drive-in theater. The summer months have average temperatures around 70 degrees.
