About Cadillac
Cadillac, Michigan, is the county seat of Wexford County. It's located about 50 miles east of Lake Michigan in the northwestern part of the state. In 1877, the town was incorporated and was named (as the automobile make was) for the Frenchman who founded Detroit. As of the 2000 Census, the town's population was approximately 10,000. Cadillac's main economic engines are manufacturing and tourism, the latter due to the lakes and state forests nearby. Cadillac's weather is cooler than most of Michigan's. In January, the average daily high temeprature is 25 degrees and the avergae low is 8 degrees. In July, the average daily high is 79 degrees and the average low is 54 degrees. The town receives about 32 inches of precipitation each year, about a quarter of which is snow.
