About Battle Creek

Battle Creek, Michigan, is in the south-central part of the state, where the Battle Creek River meets the Kalamazoo River about 80 miles east of Lake Michigan. It is best known as the world headquarters of Kellogg Corporation, and thus bears the nickname "The Cereal City." Battle Creek was so-named because it was founded near the site of a fight in 1824 that occurred between a surveyor and some Native Americans.
