North Peoria is a largely-residential district outlying Peoria, Illinois to the northwest. Peoria itself, county seat of Peoria County in the central part of the state and largest city on the Illinois River, supports a population well over one hundred ten thousand.
The area locally known as North Peoria has been considered traditionally part of (though unincorporated into) the neighboring city of Dunlap; Peoria's current municipal policy is geared towards annexation of the area due to its economic ties with the larger city. Peoria's climate is moderately Midwestern, with summer highs to the mid-eighties and winter lows reaching the low teens.
