About Sioux City

Iowa has long been rated one of the best places to raise children and Sioux City, tucked into the beautiful Loess Hills, is a great place to live in the state. Sioux City, the regional center for business, education, medicine and tourism for northwest Iowa as well as parts of South Dakota and Nebraska, has twice been named an All-American City by the National Civic League.

Located at the navigational head of the Missouri River about 90 miles north of Omaha, Siouxland as the tri-state area is popularly known was visited by Lewis and Clark on their way west in 1804 and has been a stopping point for many other westward bound travelers who ended up staying. It is home to such well-known companies as Gateway 2000, Sue Bee Honey, and Jolly Time Popcorn and is served by Northwest Airlines through the Sioux Gateway Airport.

Average summer temperatures of 73 degrees makes outdoor activities pleasant and cold winter weather averaging 20 degrees keeps heating contractors busy.
