Steamboat Springs is the county seat of Routt County, Colorado. It is located in the Colorado Rockies just west of the Continental Divide. The city is also known as Ski Town USA and it has the largest population of any town in Routt County with about 10,000 people. Steamboat Springs also has a large ranching community. It is also famous for its annual Winter Carnival, which includes many events such as skiing light shows, ski jumping and racing, and dog sled and chariot events.
