Craig is the county seat of Moffat County and is located in northwest Colorado with a population of about 10,000 people. It was founded in 1889 by William H. Tucker and it was named after the town's financial backer, Rev William B. Craig, and was incorporated as a city in 1908. Craig still has the spirit of the old west and is home to the Grande Olde West Days. Northwest Colorado is nationally renowned for its big game hunting. Craig has temperatures that average around 70 degrees in the summer months, and on some days highs are above 80 degrees.
