Heating Contractors in Arkansas
Browse Heating Contractors in all states
Arkansas is nicknamed "The Natural State" because much of its land -- rivers, forests and mountains --
remains undeveloped. Arkansas is the 32nd most populous state, with about 3 million people. Arkansas
rarely gets very cold during the winter, with average temperatures in the 50s. It gets extremely warm during the
summer months.
Contractors do not need to be licensed by the state of Arkansas unless they intend to bid and work
on construction projects that cost $20,000 or more. The state licenses both commercial and residential
contractors. In order to get a license, both commercial and residential classifications require exams.
You must be approved by Arkansas' Licensing Board before you can take the exam. Once you've passed the
exam, return to the Arkansas's Contract Licensing Board
to apply for the license. Also note that Arkansas has reciprocity with Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama,
and Louisiana, so the exam is waived if you are already contracted in one of those states. You must still
complete a Request for Verification of License and Affidavit form.
Should you have issues with your HVAC contractor, contact
Arkansas' Attorney General, or the
Arkansas Better Business Bureau.
Should you find that your winter heating bills are too expensive, there are organizations that will
help you pay them. Contact:
Entergy Arkansas for more information.
