"You can't stop a 21 year old Trane"
My 1900 square foot home in Tampa, Florida was built in 1989 and I have a Trane xe900 3.5 ton heat pump. It is still running (after 21 years). It is a 9 seer and I have decided to replace it with a new Trane xr15 4 ton heat pump due to energy savings and the tax credit. You can't stop a Trane.

"Very Happy with Trane"
I bought this house in 1995 and it had a Trane xl 1200 heat pump in it. It never gave me a moments trouble but in 2008, the old system was 17 years old and I wanted to take advantage of the tax break for a new system. I purchased the 19I heat pump system at that time. I have been extremely satisfied with that two compressor system and my electric bills are incredibly low. The comfort is also better as most of the time it runs on the smaller compressor. Once again, I have had no problems at all and it performs wonderfully. I agree with one of the other reviewers that the installation makes these run well or in some cases not well. For those who have had problems, perhaps they should switch their service companies. I expect that this system will last just as long as the previous heat pump system.

"We Love It"
We own one of the Trane Dual Fuel heat pumps/gas packs. This unit lowered my monthly natural gas bills from around $250 to $50. In doing this, it raised my electric bill by only about $10 per month. Have had no problems with the unit and it handles our "Southern Heat" with ease. I am getting ready to replace out upstairs HVAC equipment and it will be a Trane once again.

"Trane XL15i"
Just installed the Trane XL15i. It's so quiet you need to be next to it to tell it's running.

"We know what can stop a Trane LOL"
We've been extremely happy with our Trane AC unit since 1988. However, recently over the past few years we have had the experience of learning what can stop a Trane-ANTS. Every time we've had a severe rain storm ants have gotten into the side of the unit and shorted out the contact. Luckily, it's only a $14.00 part, but living here in Florida, this is becoming more and more frequent. Finally the other night, we had a real rain storm again and I think this time it's dead. I could not ask more from this Trane. It's had a good life!

"Trane over 25 years"
Just replaced a 2 1/2 ton Trane heat pump from 1984 and still was running good, both heating and cooling in Virginia Beach, Va. As far as I know, the unit never needed major repairs. Replaced with a Trane 3 ton xr15 heat pump and variable speed air handler. It works great and the rep is great. You can't stop a Trane they say and I agree. I think the installation has a great deal to do with how well the units work amd my installation was top notch.

"Owner"
After reading some of your reviews, I have come to the conclusion that the problems some of the consumers are having have nothing to do with the products. Most products, if installed correctly do not have issues. Do your research on the installing company instead of the product.

"Trane XL15i Heat Pump"
Trane XL15i unit replaced a Trane xe1100 unit that failed after about 15 years of quality service. This new Trane is a welcome change. It never calls for the emergency heat and heats like a gas furnace. I highly advise you to look into the Trane XL15i heat pump.

"Trane heat pump"
I have had a Trane xe12 3-ton heat pump for 17 years. Last year, it needed a new contractor. The first and only service call since it was new. I have neglected it by not having yearly checkups. If it works leave it alone, I say. Today, I am having a new XL15i with 2spd air handler installed, only because of the govt and utility rebates being offered. I'm hoping for lower electric bills with this new unit. I can recommend Trane with confidence.
