Review:
"totally satisfied with my trane heat pump"
I purchased my Trane heat pump when the older one in my house burned out about four months ago. I got it through the Trane website, and I have absolutely no complaints about the item so far. It has done a great job of keeping my entire house warm and comfortable, and I have definitely noticed a significant drop in my heating bill. I got the "ultra efficiency" version because I wanted to reduce my energy use, and it has certainly lived up to its name! I had a couple guys from Trane come and install it for me, and they were very courteous and helpful and showed me how to set up my temperature preferences before I left. This was a particularly cold winter, and with my old heat pump I always noticed how the temperature had to drop substantially before the heater would turn on; however, with this unit there is no perceivable change. It also does a great job of keeping the humidity under control in my house. I would definitely recommend Trane products to anyone looking to upgrade their heating system.

"Owner / Operator"
I have three 19i Trane heat pumps in my house. I am a Trane dealer and make a living on working on all makes and models of HVACR equipment.I have the liberty to have any unit I chose and I chose Trane because I feel they have the best heat pumps and I dont have time to work on my own equipment. I am a Local 602 contractor for Md and Va. The thing about heat pumps they must be installed properly with correct duct work design. It does not matter who makes the unit it will not work right if it is not installed right. My electric bill is about the same as it was with my last house that was half the size.

"Great so far"
Had XL15i both outside and inside units installed last fall. So far working like it should, my bills this winter are half of what they were last year and it has been colder this year. Last year Was running around 400.00 to heat, this year 200.00 big difference. I did purchase extended warranty so labor would be paid after reading some of the reviews. Can not wait to see bills this summer.

"very unsitified consumer"
Ever since we bought our trane, 2002) we have had nothing but trouble. The unit was replaced after 1 year. We have had to have maintance on it ever year. Now it is out again. We are replacing this trane with something else. We had our 1st heating unit for over 30 years. I would not advise anyone to purchase this product. We have spent as much in repairs as we did for the unit. They don't stand behind their product.

"you cant stop a trane!"
I have been in the heating and cooling field for 27 years and yes there are some Trane units I have seen that are troublesome but Trane as a whole compaired to other makes that I also install and service is second to none parts are reasonably priced and the units are easy to repair. Proper care and maintenance is the key to a longlasting and trouble free unit.

Review:
"Bob In Texas"
We had our home built in Central Texas in 1998 and have never had a service call on our Trane Heat Pump. I have a permanent electrostatic filter that I usually clean every month and that is all I have ever done to maintain our Trane Heat Pump. My wife and I both suffer from allergies, so we run a hunter hepa filter in every room and never open any windows. Our a/c vents and ducts are clean as new which may be a factor in never having to service our Trane.

"18 Years old, finally replacing"
This XE1000 2-ton split unit was in the house when I bought it in 1996 - original installation was 1992. Over the years it has performed very well in our FL climate with routine maintenance. The only repairs were to an outdoor fan in 2007 that just stopped one night. And a couple of times it's acted weird, but that was fixed with a new digital thermostat. That said, I'm getting ready to replace this unit with a new XLR-15i system, with a variable speed air handler. I hope it's as good as the XE1000 has proved!

"XE 1000"
This unit was installed by builder in 1994. Only repairs done to it was a contactor and hard start relay. No freon was ever added. No yearly maintenance was ever done, only inside air filter changes. This unit still works well. Will change it only when it eventually fails.
